This website markets hiring out farmhouses at the holding Einehaugen at Barsnes in Sogndal, Vestland. Barsnes is a name that might originate from the Norse God, Balder, and «nes» means headland: Balder’s headland. Etymologically, Balder may tell «lord». Another understanding of the name comes from «boulder», a large rock. The boulder’s nose could be an imaginative translation.
Currently, the oldest farmhouse is not available. However, our primary farmhouse is available for rent from 16 June to 31 July 2025. You can rent the house for two days or more via Airbnb. Cruises are also available for booking in the Summer—a range of experiences in a small part of Norway. Barsnes by Sognefjorden is where you can relax or be active: hiking, swimming or lugeing.
